The Dell SE2416HX computer monitor is a 23.8” inch option that’s ideal for both video games and entertainment in general. It features a very glossy and thin bezel finish, with an aluminium painted riser to create a sense of contrast (as well as add a bit of design into the mix). It’s optimal for just about any home environment, and is a decent size as well. With this monitor, you’ll benefit from being able to see rich and accurate colors at all times; bright reds and deep blacks have never looked this good! This Dell SE2416HX review is going to look at the benefits of this monitor, and why I got it myself. The specifications of any computer monitor are important to me, and these ones are as follows:
- Weight: 6kg
- Resolution: 1920 x 1080
- GVA and HDMI compatible
- Response Time: 6ms (GTG)
- Aspect Ratio: 16:9
- Backlight Technology: LED
- Brightness: 250cd/m²
- 178 Degree Ultra-Wide Viewing
- Screen Size: 23.8”
A simple and straight-forward monitor, this is one that I was skeptical of at first. Dell is a reputable computer brand, but it’s not like they’re known as being the king of monitors by any means. Right off the bat, I liked the size of the Dell SE2416HX monitor, but I wasn’t sure if it had enough features to keep up with the competition. I’m going to talk about some of the features surrounding this product, as well as what I enjoyed about the monitor itself.
Image QualityThis monitor makes use of an IPS panel, as opposed to a TN type that a lot of other options would implement. When it comes to IPS panels, it’s a known fact that their color correction technology is much better than any other panel. The only bad thing about this is that it can be hard to emphasize blacks, which can mess with the contrast of your monitor. When they first came out, IPS monitors were incredibly slow and expensive – things have since changed, of course. The color is great with the Dell SE2416HX, and it’s built to last. It’s equipped with Full HD resolution, and sports a response time of 6ms (gray to gray). Ghosting and blurred images weren’t a big problem when I was using this monitor, but it wasn’t the most stellar viewing experience I’ve ever had. This isn’t your typical Dell SE2416HK review, it’s my own view of the product – remember that.
In terms of quality, though, this is a great monitor. The resolution of the Dell SE2416HX PC screen is reasonable, and the size is reliable – the backlight LED is a nice touch as well. The monitor can also be tilted in order to create optimal viewing angles as well!
In terms of hooking the Dell SE2416HX monitor up, there are 1 HDMI connector and 1 VGA connector. Regardless of how you want to set-up your monitor, you should be able to; VGA and HDMI are the most common way to go about connecting monitors these days. I had a few problems with the power supply, as the monitor turned off randomly at times; I was wondering whether it was my outlet or the monitor itself. It happened more than once, but I could work through it (as annoying as it happened to be).
It’s very easy to set up, and shouldn’t create too much commotion. If you aren’t the most tech-savvy person around, you should still be able to set everything up; it’s that simple!
The number of features included within this monitor were meant to appeal towards the average person. I know that most people looking into a brand-new monitor (much like myself) are pretty good with technology, but it’s a new era nowadays – not everybody out there is comfortable with installing (and shopping for) new pieces of technology just yet. The thin bezels included within the design allow your viewing area to be as large as possible, and the screen performance is on par with some of the higher-quality monitors out there.
A 178 degree ultra wide viewing angle, presented in Full HD and 1920 x 1080 display, is available with this monitor; creating the clearest and cleanest image you’ll ever find. All you need to do is plug the monitor in and you’re good to go! It also comes with a 3-year Advanced Exchange Service (which is a part of the 3-Year Limited Hardware Warranty). If you have any technical issues within 3 months of making the purchase, there’s absolutely nothing to worry about, as Dell has you covered.
This monitor also meets every single one of these environmental standards:
- ENERGY STAR Qualified
- EPEAT Silver Rated
- CECP Certified
- TCO Certified Displays
The materials they used in the manufacturing process for this monitor are eco-friendly, because Dell wanted to ensure that they were making a difference in the world. I liked that a lot, because I recycle and such, as well; it’s good to know that major companies are doing the same. This monitor is free of arsenic glass, as well as using a mercury-free LED panel.
With everything I’ve written so far, you can probably put together that this is a reasonably manufactured monitor. Dell did a great job implementing the most ideal features possible, I like the size/quality of image as well. When you look at Dell as a whole, they never seem to let you down product-wise; so, I felt like I needed to test this monitor out for myself.
That’s what I did, and needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed with the Dell SE2416HX display. If you wanted a reliable monitor to work with, I would highly suggest this one!
