I was on the lookout for a no-nonsense monitor at an affordable price. After reading numerous BenQ GL2760H reviews, I was quite sure that this is the right choice for me. Six months later, I can still say that this is an excellent monitor that really delivers on the promises made in the product claims. Without wasting any time, let me get down to the nitty-gritty of what I love about this product. Let us first take a look at the specifications; then I’ll share more of my thoughts.

Since I work from my home office, I had long been on a quest for a large monitor. However, I had always felt reluctant to pay the hefty price tag attached to most large-size monitors available in the market. I have to admit that BenQ is truly value for money. Since I usually work long hours with intermittent breaks scattered throughout the day, I needed a robust monitor. I am currently using Windows 8 on my on my monitor and the experience has been seamless. The initial set up was also very easy and free of any hiccups.
It’s worth mentioning that I’m using BenQ GL2760Has my primary monitor and so far it has been highly reliable. I really don’t think I could have been any happier with my purchase, especially for the price I paid. I am truly amazed by the performance this monitor has offered me despite being a budget product.
The BenQ GL2760H is an excellent 27” inch monitor that offers a widescreen experience at an affordable price. Being a Twisted Nematic (TN) monitor, you get a very fast response time of 2 milliseconds. The brightness and contrast claims made by the company are totally spot on.At 300 nits the brightness is impressive. I can say the same for the 12,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Color temperature and color accuracy is also highly impressive. Colors really pop up from the screen which is great for watching movies or playing games. However, I usually turn the brightness down during regular office work. I’m not much of a gamer, but the bright colors are really impressive when I choose to binge watch Netflix over the weekend. Also, the screen is supposed to have an anti-glare coating to protect the eyes. I’m not sure how well that works, but I can say that I haven’t experienced any eye strain so far. To be fair, I am also careful with setting the brightness level correctly for different purposes.
The white point or the uncalibrated temperature falls around the 6419K mark which is only 2.55 off the ideal mark of 6500K. This is really quite impressive and definitely very hard to find in a monitor retailing at such an affordable price.
I haven’t experienced any issues with ghosting or lag in visuals. The quality of black in high contrast videos is also truly exceptional. About the viewing angle, I would say that it is great but not outstanding. It’s better than what other budget monitors will offer you, but it does not match up with the best IPS screens available in the market.
For someone who works long hours on the computer, this is certainly a salient feature. BenQ has developed a new technique for controlling brightness that does not use Pulse-Width-Modulation (PWM) which is primarily responsible for eye fatigue. If you are someone who suffers from eye fatigue, then this monitor is definitely going to be a boon for you.
I find it excellent for both doing my regular office work and watching movies. The color and contrast ratio offer a very immersive experience while watching movies. Although I am not much of a gamer, I can tell you that this monitor offers a fairly decent gaming experience.
But hey, let’s be fair, one can’t get everything at this price point. However, you are going to be completely satisfied with your BenQ GL2760H unless you are a serious FPS gamer in which case this monitor might not fit the bill for your perfectly. Also, I must mention that the flicker-free backlight is a unique feature you aren’t going to find amongst rivals at this price.
Every time I receive any new package in the mail, I get super excited about opening it. I experienced the same kind of excessive excitement upon receiving my new BenQ monitor. I’m so glad that it was fairly easy to set it up and get started. I must mention that you do need to tighten some screws in order to fasten the stand to the monitor. But trust me that’s really no big deal.
Aesthetics really matter to me and this monitor does not fail to impress. The sleek modern design makes it quite pleasing to the eyes. By no means, does it look like a cheap monitor? Amongst all the budget monitors I researched, this certainly was amongst the better-looking ones.
BenQ GL2760Hcomes with VGA, HDMI and DVI connections. Although I am personally using this as my primary monitor, you can easily use the HDMI connector to make this your secondary monitor. You will also have access the two convenient USB2.0 ports as well as an audio line-out jack.
My BenQ GL2760H review is meant to ease all your worries if you are looking for a budget monitor and are seriously leaning towards this product.
I think you should go for it if you are looking for a no-nonsense monitor that offers a superior experience in the budget range. However, if you are a serious gamer or someone who does a lot of professional graphic designing or photo editing work, then this monitor might not be perfectly suitable for you. If like me, you need a reliable machine for regular office work or for watching movies and not too serious gaming, then by all means, this is the perfect product for you. I am personally very happy with it and have no reservations about recommending it to others.
