There’s a lot that makes a display good or bad, and as I have observed while doing reviews on displays, the panel does not make the monitor. One might have the assumption that 21:9 displays currently in the market all look the same. It’s usually wrong because that is but a small part of the overall display. Out of the box first impression, the Asus MX299Q has a stylish design to it. It has one of the best designs I’ve ever seen on a monitor panel to date. Let’s break it down bit by bit.

For this monitor, it’s not just about the super high image quality; it utilizes an impressive high-quality IPS based panel giving you an excellent color fidelity. With a 60Hz refresh rate and 5mm response time, images are sharp; they pop out well, as well as a great off-axis view for a full panoramic visual experience. Asus MultiFrame Software as an add-in helps keep the desktop neat and organized when managing multiple windows.
Asus MX299Q has with it an high-end design feature that makes it a people’s choice. The incorporation of a premium, immersive Sonic Master audio in collaboration with the Bang & Olufsen ICE Power, gives it an advanced audio hardware and professional sound processing with two built-in 3-watt stereo speakers and two 5 watt amplifier channel. The industrial design is excellent looking with a thin, frameless edge-to-edge bezel and a simplified metal aesthetic that goes down on the bottom giving it a stylish design.
The quick feature add-in allows for the buttons at the bezel of the panel to be touch-sensitive with just a little light touch; a function is executed. The inputs, DisplayPort, DVI, and HDMI/HML located at the back alongside headphone jack and audio line-in. An external power brick is used to accomplish the rare look. The 29’ Ultra-wide display with 21:9 ratio at 2560X1080 resolution is perfect for enhanced productivity and off this world cinematic experience.
