A monitor is a very important component in any computer experience out there. The Acer H277HU is one of the great monitors out there on the vast monitor market. Featuring a sleek design and premium materials, the 27-inch Acer H277HU could very well be the next monitor sitting on your desktop.
First off, let’s start with the most important specifications:
|Resolution||2560 x 1440|
|Speakers||2x 3W stereo speakers|
DesignThe display is very sleek, lightweight and slim for a 27-inch monitor. This ensures that it will fit nicely in almost any desk area size, leaving more room for your other stuff on the desktop. This is the beauty of technology, as it will make things easier to handle and the displays that are produced today are much easier to carry around than the dreadful CRT displays that we once had to deal with. The H277HU is crafted from premium aluminium and plastic in such a way that it does not feel cheap or fragile at all. The stylish design will also add a touch of class to your whole desk area as well.
The bezels on this beauty are very, very thin, which results in a nice and clean profile except for the bottom, where there is a bit of a wider gap. The golden tint of the aluminium is a nice touch as well and adds to the overall impression of the monitor. The stand that the monitor comes with is very modern looking and stylish with the circle design. The stand can be tilt adjusted, but not height and swivel, unfortunately.
All in all, the Acer H277HU is a great looking monitor with a stylish design and good quality.
A 27-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, also known as WQHD or Quad HD. Now that may sound a bit cool, but that’s simply because it is! We find this resolution to fit perfectly on a 27-inch display, so that’s a big plus for this monitor. Details will be crisp and clear when watching videos, browsing the web or playing games. This particular monitor is not targeted at professionals, who need very good color reproduction and color depth, but more for office or home use. It’s not marketed as a gaming monitor either because it isn’t one. Everyday web browsing, watching Netflix, YouTube, and other video consumption, as well as office work on Excel and Word are good examples of what this monitor could easily be used for as its main purpose.
The beautiful IPS panel will also ensure a good color quality and superior viewing angles and the 350 Nit maximum brightness is a great feature as well so that you can watch what’s going on in your screen in sunlight as well. This monitor is great for movies, web browsing, office work and even some beginner Photoshop and video editing. Professional video editors, photographers and graphic designers are going to be needing a 4K resolution and at least true 10-bit color, which this monitor does not offer.
The Acer H277HU has a variety of connectivity options, including two USB 3.0 ports. Furthermore, there’s a HDMI port and a DisplayPort connector as well on the back side of this beautiful monitor. The best part though is the addition of a USB-C port on the back, which is a nifty feature to have.
I do work such as Photoshop and Adobe After Effects, and I found that using this monitor was sufficient for these tasks and a pleasure even. Real professionals, however, are going to need more from their monitor, if they want accuracy.
On the back side, you will also find speakers. Yes, they are on the back, which means that they will lose some of their impact and volume. It would be better if they were on the front so that they could produce better sound. Most people use external speakers anyway, so that’s not a huge deal anyways.
Price and Value
The retail price of this monitor is $499.99, which we find a bit on the expensive side for a 60Hz WQHD display. There are other monitors with the same major specs that are cheaper than this. Overall, this monitor is a great display for web browsing, light video and photo editing, office work and entertainment.
