Philips has just announced a new display to their roster: the Philips BDM3275UP. It is a 32-inch monitor, and it is new for Philips to start producing monitors at size with this incredible resolution. This is due to the fact that more and more people are demanding higher and better resolutions, thus the higher interest in 4K (Ultra-HD) resolution displays. People can look forward to super high detailed and clear viewing experience for various purposes such as watching movies, gaming or office applications with a 4K monitor of this caliber.

The screen itself offers an ultra HD resolution with 3840 x 2160 pixels and a modest 32-inch screen size. It is our belief in today’s world that 1080p (Full HD) is suitable for 24-inch monitors, 1440p (WQHD) is suitable for 27-inch monitors and 2160p (4K or UHD) is suitable for 32-inch monitors and above. Thus, this monitor is perfectly suited with a 4K resolution given our recommendations. The screen also offers a 4ms Gray-to-Gray response time and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. Four milliseconds is actually not bad considering it is an IPS monitor and these types of displays generally have issues with longer response times than the inferior TN panel. Furthermore, the monitor offers a 350 cd/m2 (Nit) brightness and 178/178 viewing angles.

The color quality of this monitor is absolutely amazing as it is equipped with an AHVA panel from AU Optronics with 10-bit color depth. An AHVA panel is essentially an IPS-type panel and share the characteristics of IPS panels such as superior color representation and viewing angles. The monitor is also flicker-free and features PiP (Picture-in-Picture) and PbP (Picture-by-Picture) options for a multi-screen experience. You will also find integrated speakers in this 4K monitor as well.

The Philips BDM3275UP features a good old VGA connector, a DVI connector, a HDMI 2.0 (MHL) connector and a DisplayPort connector. There are even four USB 3.0 ports and audio in, headphone out ports, so there are rich connectivity options in this monitor.

Philips BDM3275UP will be available in late July 2015 and the price will be £799 (RRP).
