LG has launched a new 27-inch 4K HDR monitor dubbed as the LG 27UK650-W. The display boasts an IPS panel which will along with the HDR (High Dynamic Range) support and 3840×2106 resolution ensure crystal-clear image quality with vibrant colors, wide viewing angles, and superior contrast ratio.
Thanks to its IPS panel, the LG 27UK650-W 4K HDR monitor is capable of delivering accurate and consistent colors making it adequate for professional color-critical work with over 99% sRGB color gamut.
The 4K Ultra HD resolution makes the picture crisp and allows for maximum detail due to the high pixel density. The LG 27UK650 aims to further enhance the viewing experience by incorporating support for HDR 10 content.
While HDR extends the color gamut, contrast ratio, and peak brightness of the compatible content, LG hasn’t revealed the monitor’s full capacity regarding the High Dynamic Range, and we have yet to see whether the LG 27UK650-W will have any DisplayHDR certifications by VESA.
All the exclusive features found in the newer LG monitors will be available in the 27UK650 model as well, such as ‘Screen Split’ for easier multitasking and ‘On-Screen Control’ which allows you to adjust OSD (On-Screen Display) settings in a desktop application rather than by the joystick on the monitor.
The game-enhancing features include ‘Black Stabilizer’ which increases visibility in darker games by adjusting the gamma curve, ‘Dynamic Action Sync’ for the best input lag performance, and you will also be able to find pre-calibrated and customizable picture presets for RTS and FPS game genres.
Design and Connectivity
The LG 27UK650-W features thin bezels and versatile ergonomics including height, pivot, and tilt adjustments. Display connectors are as follows: two HDMI, a DispalyPort, and an audio line-out for the headphones. There appears to be no extra UBS ports nor built-in speakers.
While the dynamic refresh rate works via both DisplayPort and HDMI ports, the LG 27UK650-W FreeSync range is unknown at the moment.
