Introduction
At CES 2018, HP has announced a new series of monitors intended for casual entertainment purposes such as watching movies, playing video games, and working. The HP F Series monitors feature an IPS panel for vibrant colors and wide viewing angles, the Full HD resolution for crisp picture quality, and an attractive design with thin bezels.
Features
The HP F series consists of 21.5-inch, 22-inch, 23-inch, 24-inch, 25-inch, and 27-inch variants. All the monitors will feature an IPS panel with 178-degree viewing angles, 5ms response time speed, and 72% NTSC color gamut for vibrant and immersive image quality.
As you can see, the monitors will have ultra-thin bezels at no extra cost, which HP calls ‘micro-edge’, making them ideal for cost-effective multi-monitor setups. All models will be available in Jet Black and Jet White color variations.
In addition, the HP F series monitors will feature AMD FreeSync technology which allows for synchronized refresh rate between the monitor and compatible AMD graphics cards. The synchronized, or dynamic, refresh rate eliminates screen tearing and stuttering up to 75Hz/FPS (Frames Per Second) without affecting the input lag.
Price & Availability
The HP F series monitors will be available in April 2018 and you will be able to get the 21.5-inch version for $99 and the 27-inch model for $230. The prices of other monitors aren’t revealed yet.
Apart from the attractive and modern design, the monitors will also offer decent ergonomics including -5°, 25° tilt and 7.09 inches of height adjustment as well as an anti-glare screen coating. While the 21.5-inch to 24-inch models feature one VGA and one HDMI 2.0 ports, the 25-inch and 27-inch version will provide you with an extra HDMI 2.0 port as well.
Overall, the HP F series monitors seem to offer great value for the money, much like their older HP Pavilion series out of which the 21.5-inch model is our pick for the best monitor under 100 USD.
