After the annual E3 event this year, we’ve got insight into some of the pretty amazing video games that we’ll be seeing throughout the year as well in the next one; luckily, most of these games are coming to PC. Although there were a lot of new games announced, we’ve selected to share with your only those that captured our attention and those that will be available in 2017.
In 2018, we’ll be eagerly anticipating titles such as Anthem, Far Cry 5, God of War 4, and Metro: Exodus, among numerous more awesome games. After a few disappointing game releases that we’ve encountered so far this year, such as the Mass Effect: Adorama’s poor voice acting and graphics, it’s safe to say that the second part of 2017 is looking much more promising.
Below, you can check out trailers, and gameplay previews if available, of some of the most anticipated PC games in 2017.
Along with Bungie, Activision and Blizzard Entertainment have combined forces to bring Destiny to PC. However, you won’t be able to make a character on PC and then switch to other platforms and continue playing from PS4, for example. Moreover, players will have to run the game via Blizzard’s battle-net launcher. The game looks well-optimized and shows stunning graphics at 4K resolution whilst still maintaining a buttery smooth performance.
The Destiny 2 PC release date is on October 24 while you’ll be able to play beta sometime in August. We’re expecting epic singleplayer storyline, cool new weapons, and fun PvP. Check out the gorgeous and fluid gameplay at 4K and steady 60 FPS, powered by Nvidia GTX 1080Ti and i7.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2
Finally a sequel to the Star Wars: Battlefront that was released all the way back in 2004. The graphics and gameplay look simply amazing while EA promises free DLC (downloadable content) in the future and we were especially glad to hear about the implemented campaign mode which the first game was missing. The storyline will allow you to experience the battlefield from different perspectives as well as to play as Luke Skywalker at some point. The release date is expected on November 17.
Assasin’s Creed: Origins
Assasin’s Creed: Origins brings surprisingly fresh new gameplay to the series and makes the game more action RPG-like with quests, skill trees, boss battles, and leveling in a more open world. Travel across the endless desert by riding a camel with an eagle as your companion and explore the Ancient Egypt with stunning graphics and fun gameplay. The Assasin’s Creed: Origins release date is on October 27.
Call of Duty: WWII
New Call of Duty game brings new weapons and game modes, and replaces the create-a-class multiplayer system with Divisions. The five divisions include Infantry, Mountain, Expeditionary, Armored, and Airborne. Mountain Division utilizes snipers, expeditionary uses shotguns and grenades while the infantry is a classic soldier mode. New Headquarters lobby will allow you to challenge players to 1 vs 1 matches. In multiplayer, both Axis and Allies will have same weapon choices; You will no longer have the ability to sprint without limit. These are only some of the upgrades to the classic Call of Duty experience. The release date is scheduled for November 3.
Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar
The new expansion for Battlefield 1, In the Name of the Tsar, brings the Russian Army, new multi-battle experience for the Operations game mode, six new maps, and two more night maps as well. On four new DLC maps, you will be able to play as a female soldier using the ‘Scout’ class to reminisce the Women’s Battalion of Death. Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar release date is expected sometime in September 2017.
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War
A sequel to the awesome Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor video game is finally at hand. You will be able to build your own army and develop a unique story for your character. In short, if you’re a fan of both RPG games and Lord of the Rings, you won’t be disappointed. The Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is coming on October 10.
Need for Speed: Payback
The latest Need for Speed game brings back car battles and police chases while introducing heists and interesting storytelling via three different characters, classic car restorations, and many more. Anyway, check out the gameplay trailer with amazing graphics and effects. Need for Speed: Payback release date is on November 10.
LawBreakers is a new arena shooter FPS game from the Gear of War designer Cliff Bleszinski. Although visually very similar to Overwatch, the game will actually offer a different style of gameplay and less cartoonish characters. It will also be available on PS4 but LawBreakers won’t be cross-play. You will be able to check out the beta on June 28 while the release date is scheduled for August 8. LawBreakers is available for only $30 and promise free DLC expect for they purchasable cosmetics for weapons and characters.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus looks as the most fun FPS game due to the wild and crazy story which is a mix of sci-fi and Nazis uncensored. Another aspect which contributes to my desire to play it is the sheer gameplay that allows you to dual-wield all kind of unrealistic weapons as well as creative and bizarre graphic effects. Once you see the gameplay trailer, you’ll know what I mean. The release date is on October 10.
The Evil Within 2
If you’re into gruesome horror games, The Evil Within 2 looks pretty scary and might be just what you’re looking for. Disturbing storylines with haunting abominations and dreadful characters that startle you and make your heart accelerate is not an idea of relaxing over a video game for me. However, the Evil Within 2 looks quite interesting. The release date is on October 13.
Call of Cthulhu
Call of Cthulhu is based on H.P. Lovecraft’s writings and it takes you into its dark and twisted world. This RPG-survival game combines intensity, psychological horror, and the use of clever mechanics in order to captivate you into the insanity and oblivion. I’m personally looking forward to this one which will be released in December 2017. Cthulhu fhtagn.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
South Park: The Fractured But Whole (tehee) actually features the best graphics possible as it looks exactly like the series – which is also the best part about it. Essentially, it’s a really great and long South Park episode with fun and compelling gameplay on the side. If you’re a fan of the show, you will surely enjoy the game as it’s shaping up to be even better than the previous South Park: The Stick of Truth game. I just really, really hope it doesn’t get delayed yet again.
That sums up the list of video games I’m looking forward to playing this year. What PC games are you anticipating? Feel free to let us know in the comments below!
